Julianne DeMarco is a partner of Taylor Blessey LLP, a medical malpractice defense law firm in downtown Los Angeles. She has successfully arbitrated or tried 40 medical malpractice cases over the past 20 years. She is involved in all aspects of litigation, and has special expertise in the defense of emergency physicians, dentists, and oral surgeons. Ms. DeMarco also works closely with Denise Taylor in the work-up of high-exposure matters, including birth injury cases.
Prior to receiving her J.D. degree from Southwestern University School of Law in 1987, Ms. DeMarco worked as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Ultrasonographer, and spent several years in both the hospital and outpatient setting focusing on abdominal and pelvic ultrasounds, obstetrical ultrasounds and neonatal cranial ultrasounds.
Ms. DeMarco was raised at the Jersey Shore, and received her bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill in 1978. She has dedicated her legal career to medical malpractice defense, and was a shareholder at Bonne Bridges Mueller O’Keefe and Nichols until she joined Taylor Blessey LLP as a partner in 2006.
Ms. DeMarco has been a speaker for a variety of insurance company and health care providers on risk management, informed consent, and trial preparation for the physician defendant. She is on the board of directors of the Association of Southern California Defense Counsel, and is a member of the California State Bar.
